OBJECTIVE:

Produce a culturally sensitive fusion celebration combining the South Asian holiday of Diwali with the American holiday of Halloween. Create a cultural mash-up experience celebrating heritage, appealing to younger, multicultural audiences all while honoring the religious and traditional integrity of Diwali.

EXECUTION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Developed the fusion theme “Diwal-O-Ween”, blending South Asian traditions with Western Halloween festivities.

  • Styled the venue with marigold garlands, diyas, and rangoli art alongside pumpkins, cobwebs, and fall décor.

  • Coordinated a costume contest with cultural twists, encouraging guests to express creativity across both traditions.

  • Curated on-theme food and drink stations with creatively branded names, merging festive flavors from both traditions.
