A personal passion project that evolved into a culturally resonant lifestyle B2C brand.
MISSION: To reimagine everyday items through a South Asian lens by bridging roots and modernity with playful yet meaningful design.
ORIGINS: I launched Modern Desi to fill a void I felt personally in the wedding market. The lack of South Asian inspired bridal shower games, bachelorette gifts and modern wedding related return gifts led to a full fledged brand. I continued to blend the South Asian aesthetic I grew up with into the objects I use every day be it earrings, home décor, or apparel. I wanted to create products that reflect our culture proudly (and playfully) without compromising on everyday practicality.

Modern Desi has grown to over 350 products as a lifestyle line – from apparel and bags to doormats, stationery, and trinkets. We’ve shipped to over 35 countries globally, built partnerships and collaborative products and paved the way for new brands to enter the market.
