OBJECTIVE:

Take a movement from Bangalore and build its American edition from nothing with no race organizing experience. 

EXECUTION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Received the blessings, trademark extension and rightful permission from original creator of Saree Run in India. 

  • Featured in an article by The LAist, India West, and  New India Abroad
  • Partnered with 2 local non-profits as beneficiaries
  • Worked with 27 sponsors and brand partnerships 

CHALLENGES & SOLUTIONS:

  • Permits: I scouted 12+ LA/OC parks to find one that can handle a 5k fun run + wellness workshops + fashion show + vendors. 

  • Proof of Concept: With no experience, no concept history, no data. I had to sell an idea to both brands and attendees. 

  • Budget Optimization: Leveraged DIY fabrication techniques to maintain high production value while keeping costs manageable.
